Day 1565: Blocking Asteroids and Other Crazy Decisions

Let's leave science out of the room for a minute and indulge this thought:

Imagine there is a gigantic planet-killing asteroid headed toward Earth. And that upon impact, it would significantly injure, if not entirely destroy the planet. And the only thing that can stop it is a human-sized being. This being (not a supreme one; regular will do) would have to intercept it at the right time, distance and speed, and collide. Upon impact, the asteroid would break or explode and be reduced to crumbs, there by saving Earth. The being would be incredibly injured, depleted, destroyed, damaged and debilitated, if not obliterated or vaporised. But the planet and future generations would be saved.

Now, what Being in their right mind would volunteer for such a thing? I'll tell you.

A person who is determined to end generational trauma. Because it feels like the same thing, only emotionally.

Volunteering for the task? Think you're the Fifth Element? Brace yourself for impact.
